Double Dorm Rooms in the Ivy House Luxury Residence Hall are ideal for University of Florida students who want to have a roommate and a more social environment but want more space than offered in the traditional double dorm. Ivy House Elite & Premiere double rooms are significantly larger than University of Florida’s double dorm rooms. The larger doubles at Ivy (Premiere Doubles) are up to 251 square feet, up to 30% larger than University of Florida on-campus double rooms.
At the Ivy House, each Double room comes equipped with a sink & mirror, 2 bed sets, 2 desk sets, windows, mini-blinds, and ceiling fans. Some rooms have pedestal sinks while others have cabinets with built-in sinks. The larger doubles (Elite, Premiere, & Private Bath Doubles) have 2 closets with closet organizers. Bathrooms are located on the hall, shared with rooms next door. Bathrooms come equipped with jetted Jacuzzi tubs, showers, and large, well-lit mirrors. Bathrooms and common areas are cleaned 7 days a week by a maid service.

There are several double dorm room sizes at Ivy House with the Select Double as the base floorplan. All Double Rooms at the Ivy House come with a furniture package that includes a bed, mattress, desk, and chair set for each student. In the Select Doubles, each student has their own closet space and they share a sink with mirror. Bathrooms are located on the floor and are shared with neighboring rooms.

Privacy? Don’t need to ask us twice- upgrade into a double dorm room at Ivy with a Private Unattached private bathroom. A limited number of “Unattached Private Bathrooms” also exist, where the bathroom is not attached to the room, but kept locked and only accessible by the two students who reserve it. Check with a housing specialist to see if there are any more of this room style when reserving.

This floorplan (the Select Double with Private Attached Bathroom) has a standard-style dorm bathroom (pedestal sink instead of granite countertops), a toilet, and a full-size tub/shower combo. All of the features of the Select Double, with a Private Bathroom!

I came to the University of Florida not knowing anyone, and I didn’t want to live in a traditional dorm because I knew that they did random roommate assignments. I chose Ivy House in part because they have free roommate matching that matches students by personality, study habits, and stuff like that. They did a great job. I got along great with the girl they matched me with. We are still friends to this day and continued to live together at the same place when we moved out of the dorms.

Ivy is in the perfect location, walking distance to classes and right off sorority row. Although it is dorm style living, the amenities make up for it. Unlike regular dorms, the bathrooms are always clean and the rooms are huge and each girl gets her own closet. It’s also very social, I know I’ve met so many nice girls down in the kitchen or watching tv in the common area. I have loved living here and I would highly recommend it for any girl looking for a nice place to live.

I’m a freshman here at University of Florida and I have loved my time at the Ivy House. It’s so close to campus and all of my classes. The bus picks up right beside the building and the dorms here are so comfortable and cozy. Plus everyone’s super personable!!

I loved living at Ivy house for my first year at college, it is the perfect way to transition to living alone and the rooms are way nicer than the on campus housing. My friends and family that come visit alway say that Ivy looks just like a hotel! Ivy is only steps from classes so it makes it very convenient to get to class. 10/10 would recommend!
